This footage was shot at one of the first festivals we ever played, an underground festival in southern Germany, in July of 1994. HeadCrash had only been playing live shows for around five months. This track, Poaching Clean Water, (announced as Clean Water in this video clip) was the first track I wrote for the band, and I believe only the 1st or 2nd time we played it live. The song title and the lyrics would change a few times before we recorded the track in the studio for the "Freedom" MAXI-CD in August of 1994, and once more for the Overdose on Tradition LP-CD in 1995. It's hard to believe this footage is 15 years old but then again, the wallet chains & hightop Airwalks give it away :) Also, the fact that little kids are running around, on/off stage, without security / signed parental permission / waivers / personal injury & pain and suffering clauses / litigation experts / lawsuits, ect.- I guess the absence of all that dates this footage as well. Anyways... this was the first festival experience for us, and the K-town Crew was on hand to make sure we got our props. 3-4 carloads made the trip to this clearing in the Black Forest... there are some familiar faces in the crowd, at the end of this footage. Everyone got in/ate/drank/smoked/camped for free, setting the tone for how the Crew would roll, come festival season, in the years to come... Lyrics: Shane Cooper; Music: Herv Meyszner; Line-up at the time: Shane and Al (vocals), Herv Meyszner (guitar), Rog Ingenthron ...
